Self Care for Everyone
As a highschooler, we all know how stress can affect our skin, body, and mind. That being said, every once in a while every person needs time to focus on themselves. Whether it be physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, or social, keeping up with the current trends isn’t always easy, and most of the time it breaks your bank.
Self-care is an important aspect that everyone should integrate into their daily routines. A few of the easiest things to do for yourself is to do yoga, take a bath, get a massage or meditate. Staying hydrated seems so simple and easy, but it truly makes a difference in your health and how you care for yourself.
There are always distractions from taking care of ourselves, social media being an example of that. It gets more apparent every day that social media platforms lead to being in a negative mood. Taking a step back from it and focusing on yourself is always important.
Although it seems hard to keep a steady and consistent sleep pattern, it’s very crucial to get at least eight hours of sleep every night. Not only does keeping a steady sleeping pattern make a difference in how you feel, but it also makes a difference in the work you do.
“High school is very draining and tiring, if you look like you just woke up, you’ll probably feel like you just woke up too,” said Meagan Moss, a freshman at North.
Make sure to set out time for yourself, be organized, and keep up with whatever you’re doing. Having a day planner or calendar is just one way to ensure you get things done and do it in a timely fashion.
Whatever your self-care ritual may be, it should make you feel clean, energized, happy, and ready to take on whatever the day may throw at you.
