According to police, an 18-year-old guy died in the hospital after being shot during a fight in a southwest Miami-Dade park on Monday night.

The shooting took place at Naranja Park, which is at 14150 SW 264th Street, around 7 p.m. Police from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office say Detective Joseph Peguero said the gunman, who is still on the run, shot the teen after a fight.

There was a woman at the scene who didn’t want to be named. She said her son was with the victim and told his mother that the suspect was complaining to his friends about wanting their football.

The teen was taken to Jackson South Medical Centre by rescuers from Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue, but Peguero says he died there.
