Man Charged in North Broadway Shooting Incident


YONKERS, NY

— A 34-year-old man was arrested Friday evening in connection with a shooting near 944 North Broadway, according to the Yonkers Police Department.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., police responded to a report of shots fired. Officers located multiple 9mm shell casings at the scene. No injuries or property damage were reported. The roadway was closed while detectives from the Major Case Squad, Digital Forensics Unit, and Crime Scene Unit conducted an investigation.

Authorities determined that two men had been involved in a dispute inside a nearby office building that continued outside. During the altercation, one man allegedly produced a firearm and fired three rounds at the other individual before fleeing the area.

Officers located the suspect, identified as James Morris of Yonkers, a short time later on Executive Boulevard. He was taken into custody and charged with Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, and Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree.

The case is being handled by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.
