Allentown, Pennsylvania The Allentown Police Department reports that a man was taken into custody Thursday morning after he tried to rob two Allentown establishments that were just a few minutes apart.
Officers were called to a strong-arm robbery at Domino’s Pizza, situated at 2 E. Susquehanna Street, at around 10:50 a.m. on June 19. A male suspect wearing all black entered the store and asked that an employee open the cash register, according to what the employees told police. Without getting any money, the suspect left the location and climbed into a parked car nearby.
Officers stopped the car close to North 11th Street and Hamilton Street after swiftly identifying it.
Police found out throughout the investigation that the same person had also tried to rob a 7-Eleven at 1201 Hamilton Street. The guy went empty-handed after the clerks in that event refused to comply with his demands.
Suspect taken into custody without further incident
At the scene of the traffic stop, the suspect—who was not immediately identified—was arrested. Neither attempted robbery resulted in any recorded injuries.
Police are still looking into both occurrences, and charges are still pending.
