Extreme heat advisory issued in North Jersey with temperatures expected over 100 degrees

New Jersey’s Linden.Today, an extreme heat advisory is in effect for a large portion of Central and Northern New Jersey.

Beginning Sunday, the Linden Police Department issued an Extreme Heat Advisory alerting locals to the potentially fatally high temperatures that are predicted to surpass 100 degrees in the days ahead.

The public is being advised by authorities to stay hydrated, stay cool, and keep an eye out for symptoms of heat-related disease. According to authorities, vulnerable groups are more vulnerable, such as the elderly and those with long-term medical or mental health issues.

The authority said that without adequate cooling, indoor temperatures in residences can quickly rise above outside levels. To stay cool, use air conditioning at home or visit a location with air conditioning.

OSHA’s suggestions for outdoor workers are included in the advice. They urge regular breaks in air-conditioned or shaded places and prompt relocation to a cooler environment for anyone experiencing heat fatigue.

People are urged to visit friends, relatives, and neighbors who might be particularly vulnerable to intense heat.

Officials in Linden warn of extreme heat beginning Sunday and suggest safety measures for outdoor workers and households who are at risk.
