BRONX, N.Y. The NYPD reports that a 26-year-old male was shot and murdered inside a residential building in the Bronx’s Crotona Park East neighborhood on Saturday morning.
At around 9:39 a.m., 42nd Precinct officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress at 1007-09 East 174th Street. When officers arrived, they discovered Kasiem Johnson with a gunshot wound to his neck, unconscious and unresponsive.
Johnson was taken by emergency medical services to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was declared deceased.
The inquiry is still underway, and no one has been taken into custody. Details on the events leading up to the shooting have not been made public by the police.
