UTICA, NYA 16-year-old boy who was shot early Saturday morning and brought to Wynn Hospital is the subject of an investigation by Utica Police.
Authorities said that on June 21, at around two in the morning, hospital employees called the police after the teenager arrived at the ER with a gunshot wound to his lower leg.
The victim told investigators that he had been walking close to the hospital when he was shot when they came to talk to him. He claimed that after the incident, two unidentified men transported him to the hospital.
The teenager informed authorities that he was unable to provide any other details about the incident or its location and that he did not know the people who helped him.
Investigation ongoing as police seek information
According to Utica Police, the circumstances surrounding the incident are still unknown and no suspects have been named. There have been no arrests.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward as they search the neighborhood for security footage.
It is anticipated that the teenager would heal from his wounds. Because of his age, the police have not disclosed his identity.
