Tupelo Honey, a local Van Morrison tribute band, will perform at Shelter Cove Beach on Monday, July 1 at 7 p.m., with fireworks over the water to follow. To guarantee a position, visitors are urged to arrive early with beach chairs and blankets.
Parking will be accessible from Toms River High School East via a shuttle service and at Shelter Cove. Boaters are welcome to anchor in the Cove to see the spectacle from the Bay, and there will be a snack truck and ice cream available.
The Cigar Box Stompers will be back at Shelter Cove on Saturday, July 6 at 7 p.m., performing a range of musical styles for a crowd of all ages. There will be food sellers once more, and parking and shuttle arrangements will be similar to those for the July 1 event. We would like to remind everyone that pets are not permitted at these events.
The outdoor film series starts on July 8.
On Monday, July 8, the town’s Neighborhood Movie Series will kick off with a screening of Finding Nemo at Silverton Park at 7 p.m. Families with little children can watch the movie before bedtime because it will be shown on a Jumbotron that is viewable during the day. Snacks can be bought from the on-site ice cream truck, and attendees can set up on the park’s ball field.
If the weather permits, the public is welcome to attend all three activities. For the best parking and seating, local officials encourage citizens to arrive early.
