Off-duty NYPD detective arrested in Brooklyn on assault and harassment charges

Brooklyn, New York.According to authorities, an off-duty NYPD detective was taken into custody at the 72nd Precinct on Wednesday morning and accused of assault and harassment.

The 37-year-old Michael L. Caccavale was arrested at around 7:15 a.m. The event that resulted in the arrest was not immediately described.

At the moment, Caccavale is a detective assigned to the NYPD. At the time of the alleged offense, he was not on duty.

The investigation into the officer’s arrest is still ongoing.

One allegation of assault and one count of harassment are among the charges. Whether the cop has been placed on modified duty or suspended has not been disclosed by the NYPD.

Depending on the investigation’s findings, internal disciplinary actions can be taken.
