Queens, New York.After allegedly driving under the influence and escaping the scene of a collision that resulted in property damage, an off-duty NYPD officer was taken into custody and charged Friday evening in Queens.
After being arrested, Latifah Fitzalbert, 28, who works in the 116th Precinct, was charged with several offenses, including driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, driving while drunk, and refusing to take a breathalyzer test.
Information on the incident, such as the crash’s time and location, has not yet been made public. There were no reported injuries.
After the event, the officer faces charges linked to DWI.
Fitzalbert was off duty when she was arrested, according to the NYPD. The case is being reviewed internally, and she was handled in accordance with the usual procedure for personnel accused of illegal activity.
