Winning streak hits NY as two Powerball players score $50K

NY’s LEVITTOWN The New York Lottery reports that two tickets for $50,000 each were sold in New York for the June 14 Powerball drawing.

Wittenberg Enterprise Inc., 628 Wantagh Avenue, Levittown, sold one winning ticket. The second was bought at Niagara Falls’ 7-Eleven #35134A, located at 402 Niagara Street.

A player needs to match four of the five white numbers plus the red Power Ball in order to win the third-tier reward in Powerball. At 10:59 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, the Powerball drawing takes place.

For the white balls, the Powerball numbers come from a pool of 1 through 69, while for the red Power Ball, they come from a pool of 1 through 26. After the drawing date, players have up to a year to collect any prizes.

Before using their ticket, winners are advised by the New York Lottery to sign the back of the ticket and store it in a safe place.

State officials claim that the New York Lottery, the biggest and most lucrative lottery in North America, gave $3.8 billion to public education in the fiscal year 2023–2024.
