Jamaica, New York The New York Lottery reports that one top-prize ticket, valued at $28,346.50, was sold for Saturday’s Take 5 evening drawing.
Bolla 149-20 Rockaway Blvd, a convenience store and gas station situated at 14920 Rockaway Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens, is where the winning ticket was bought.
Numbers are picked from a field of 1 through 39 in the Take 5 drawings, which are done twice a day at 2:30 and 10:30 p.m. A player must match all five of the drawn numbers in order to win the top prize.
After the drawing date, all winning tickets must be claimed within a year. Before claiming their prize, players are recommended to sign the back of their ticket and store it in a safe place.
The number of top-prize winning tickets sold and the total prize pool available for that draw were used to determine the reward amount.
Take 5 continues to produce citywide winners
The victory on Saturday joins an increasing number of recent Take 5 jackpots won in the five boroughs, where winning tickets are often produced by neighborhood merchants.
In the fiscal year 2023–2024, the New York Lottery donated $3.8 billion to public education, making it the biggest and most lucrative lottery in North America.
