Wall police make multiple arrests for DWI, drugs, and outstanding warrants

New Jersey’s Wall Township. Shoplifting, drug possession, and multiple driving while intoxicated (DWI) charges were among the crimes that led to a number of arrests last week, according to the Wall Township Police Department.

John Cassidy, 61, of Wall, was taken into custody by Patrolman Mark Daugherty on Tuesday, June 10, after he turned himself in on a shoplifting complaint related to an incident at Foodtown on State Highway 35. On a summons, he was processed and freed.

Officers arrested three people for DWI on State Highways 138 and 35 early on Wednesday, June 11. James Williamson, 23, of Matawan, was taken into custody by Patrolman Orin McKay at around 1:04 a.m., and Ryan Dickinson, 24, of Forked River, by Patrolman Trent Powers at around 12:16 a.m. Kevin Sinclair, 24, of Toms River, was taken into custody by Patrolman Clint Forgach at 2:06 a.m. almost an hour later. John’s Law was followed in the processing and release of all three people.

During a traffic check on State Highway 35 later that day, Patrolman Kevin Orender arrested Belmar resident Steven Hickey, 41, for possessing heroin and drug paraphernalia. On a summons, Hickey was processed and set free.

Several warrant arrests, drug charges, and theft

Patrolman Daniel Grothues detained Red Bank resident Suri Castrillo, 18, on June 11 after looking into a June 3 theft of misplaced items and fraudulent credit card use at ShopRite on State Highway 35. Following a summons, Castrillo was processed and freed.

During an investigation at ShopRite on State Highway 34 on Thursday, June 12, Patrolman Thomas Gavaghan arrested Jeremiah Clark, 37, of Philadelphia, on an outstanding criminal warrant out of Hi-Nella. After being processed, Clark was freed on his own volition.

On Friday, June 13, several people were arrested for drug offenses and unresolved warrants. After a traffic check on Marconi Road, Patrolman Johan Moreno-Garcia arrested Belmar resident Daniel Bennette, 50, for possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. After being processed, Bennette was summoned and released.

Along with other traffic warrants from Stafford and Tuckerton, Patrolman Shane Killeen detained Brick resident Anthony Mills, 36, on a wanted person warrant from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office. After processing, Mills was given to Ocean County officials.

Arrests for DWI and warrants persist into the weekend.

After a stop on Lakewood Road later Friday, Patrolman Johan Moreno-Garcia took Ocean City resident Carlton A. Smith, 56, into custody on an unresolved traffic warrant from Gloucester City. After being processed, Smith was freed on his own volition.

On Sunday, June 15, the week came to an end when Lakewood resident Anthony J. Daniels, 65, was taken into custody. Around 1:03 a.m., Patrolman Kyle Pelech pulled Daniels down for DWI on State Highway 33. In addition, Daniels had outstanding traffic warrants from Asbury Park, Jackson, and Freehold. After being processed, he was given to the Jackson Police Department.

During the arrests, Wall Township police reported no incidents or injuries.

Last week, Wall Township police made a lot of arrests, including several DWIs, drug offenses, and unresolved warrants.
