New Jersey’s Ocean County.Due to high pollution levels that could endanger the health of vulnerable populations, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Orange air quality advisory for Sunday, June 29.
Ocean County and northeastern Burlington County are under the alert, which warns that concentrations of air pollution may become harmful for children, the elderly, and people with heart or respiratory disorders. Officials encourage these groups to refrain from intense outdoor activities and to reduce their physical effort.
Heat and sporadic storms are predicted throughout the weekend.
With a high of about 90 degrees Fahrenheit, Sunday’s weather will be primarily sunny. Between 1 and 2 p.m., there is a slight risk of showers, and after 2 p.m., there is a slight chance of thunderstorms. In the afternoon, calm winds will drift westward at about 5 mph. There is a 20% probability of precipitation.
Overnight, there will be calm winds and partly cloudy sky with lows of 69 degrees Fahrenheit.
Monday will bring partly sunny skies with a high of almost 89 degrees Fahrenheit. Early in the afternoon, there is a chance of showers, and after 2:00 p.m., there is a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms. At roughly five miles per hour, winds will veer southeast.
It is recommended that residents in impacted areas keep an eye on the quality of the air and modify their outdoor activities as necessary.
