Armed robbery suspects wanted for multiple incidents in New York City

NEW YORK The public is being asked to help the New York City Police Department identify a suspect in a string of knife-point threat robberies that occurred around Manhattan and the Bronx last month.

According to authorities, the suspect is connected to four distinct occurrences that took place between May 28 and May 29 in the 33rd and 43rd Precincts. In each instance, the suspect walked up to the victims, brandished a knife, and then rode off on a moped following the heist.

Two women, ages 28 and 27, were challenged in the first incident on May 28 at around 5:36 a.m. while they were strolling close to 515 Edgecombe Avenue. The suspect tried to steal their possessions while brandishing a knife, but he eventually ran away west on 158th Street without stealing anything. There were no reported injuries.

A 60-year-old man was robbed close to 260 Audubon Avenue later that morning at approximately 5:57 a.m. After approaching the victim, brandishing a knife, and stealing his wallet, which contained about $75, the suspect fled on a moped south on 178th Street.

Similar suspicious behavior was present in other situations.

A 58-year-old man was the subject of an attack in front of 540 West 165th Street at approximately 5:30 a.m. on May 29. There were two unnamed people engaged in this case. One suspect took the victim’s wallet, which contained about $80, while brandishing a knife. Then, on a moped, the two ran north on 165th Street. There were no injuries.

A 59-year-old man was robbed close to Metcalf Avenue and Westchester Avenue on May 28 at around 4:05 a.m. in a related incident that occurred within the 43rd Precinct. After stealing the victim’s wallet, which contained roughly $32, and brandishing a knife, the suspect fled north on a moped along Morrison Avenue. There were no reported injuries.

The NYPD is still looking into the occurrences and has made surveillance photos of the suspect public.

In their efforts to find and capture the perpetrator of the string of armed robberies, police are asking anyone with information to get in touch with the NYPD.
