Cumberland, Maryland.After reportedly beating two people at a home and trying to submerge one of them during a backyard pool assault in Cumberland on Tuesday, a man is being held without bond.
Officers were called to an incident in the 200 block of Seymour Street on June 24. They interviewed a number of witnesses and victims when they arrived. A male suspect was found to have physically abused two people at the residence after an inquiry.
The defendant allegedly attempted to drown one of the victims in the property’s tiny pool during the incident. At the scene, he was placed under arrest.
Cumberland resident Donald Joseph Pryor, 58, was named as the suspect. Also, Pryor attacked a police officer while being arrested.
The suspect was detained without bond after making an initial appearance.
After making an Initial Appearance before a District Court Commissioner, Pryor was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is being held without bond at the moment.
First-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, and second-degree assault against police officers are among the several charges against him.
There has been no further disclosure regarding the victims’ condition.
