Baltimore, Maryland.Following claims of inappropriate interaction with pupils, Baltimore County Police have arrested and charged a gym teacher at Northwest Academy with multiple counts of second-degree assault.
Detectives from the Crimes Against Children Unit of the department arrested 28-year-old Jordan Adams on Tuesday. According to officials, Adams is charged with inappropriately touching a number of students while he was a student there.
Adams is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bond, according to police confirmation. No other information regarding the number of victims or the type of alleged contact has been made public, and the investigation is still ongoing.
Parents or guardians who have concerns are being asked to come forward by the authorities. According to a statement from the department, detectives are requesting that parents and other family members of students call the department at 410-887-7720 if they have any further information about Adams or think their child might possibly be a victim.
The investigation goes beyond the first reports.
Adams has not made his work status with Northwest Academy public. As of Wednesday, the school has not issued a statement.
According to Baltimore County Police, additional charges may be brought based on the findings of continuing interviews and community information.
