Burger King employee charged with attempted homicide after stabbing co-worker in Allentown

Pa.’s Allentown.Police say an 18-year-old Allentown man has been charged with attempted homicide after he reportedly stabbed a coworker in the throat on Saturday night while working at a Burger King restaurant.

On June 28, at around 6:14 p.m., the Allentown Police Department was called to the fast-food establishment located at 1958 South Fourth Street in response to a stabbing report. When officers arrived on the site, they discovered a victim employee who had been severely stabbed.

Before Allentown EMS sent the victim to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest with what officials said were Class 1 injuries, police provided emergency assistance.

The suspect works at the restaurant as well.

Brinley Capellan-Lopez, another Burger King employee, was promptly identified and located by the officers. Without incident, he was taken into custody at the spot.

Capellan-Lopez is accused with aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and attempted homicide.

No motivation for the attack has been revealed by the authorities, and there have been no additional updates on the victim’s condition.
