Dog walking perp stabs man just sitting down in uprovoked attack in Washington Heights

NEW YORK According to authorities, a guy was repeatedly stabbed in the leg during an unprovoked attack in Washington Heights on Wednesday afternoon.

Around 4:50 p.m. on April 16, the event happened close to Amsterdam Avenue and West 162nd Street. A 33-year-old male was sitting at the junction when an unidentified person came up to him without saying anything and attacked him, according to the police.

Before escaping south on Amsterdam Avenue, the suspect brandished a sharp instrument and repeatedly stabbed the victim in the leg. The attack’s motivation is yet unknown.

The victim was taken by emergency medical services to NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where his condition was classified as stable.

Suspect fled on foot and remains at large

According to the description, the suspect is a man with a fair complexion. He was last seen with tan shoes, black jeans, and a black coat.

The availability of security footage and the existence of any previous interactions between the suspect and victim have not been verified by the NYPD.

No one has been arrested, and the inquiry is still underway.
