Grog Shop ticket nets Southern visitor $25K

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — A Georgia resident walked away $25,000 richer after a lucky ticket purchased during a visit to Connecticut.

Jeani J., of McDonough, Georgia, claimed a $25,000 prize from the 100X scratch-off game after purchasing the winning ticket at The Grog Shop located in Middletown. The win was reported on May 30.

The 100X game is a popular scratch-off offered in several states, known for its higher prize tiers and multiplier features. It is unclear whether Jeani was visiting Connecticut or passing through, but the win adds to a string of recent lottery successes in the area.

No additional details about the winner’s future plans or prize claim method were provided.

Lottery officials confirmed the payout, and The Grog Shop may be eligible for a retailer bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The Connecticut Lottery urges all players to sign the back of their tickets and claim prizes promptly.
