Illinois Man Arrested for Arriving Armed and Threatening at Kentucky Funeral

On Saturday, police in Kentucky arrested a guy from Illinois who came to the state with plans to hurt people at a funeral in Williamsburg, Kentucky.

The Williamsburg Police Department got a report on Friday about a man who had threatened two other people and was going to a funeral in Williamsburg on Saturday.

Police say that Daniel Graiber, 49, of Weaton, Illinois, made threats to hurt people at the funeral and was carrying a lot of weapons.

Graiber was charged with second-degree terroristic threats, impersonating a peace officer, first-degree disorderly conduct attempts, and having a controlled drug on his person.

After leaving Illinois, Graiber went to two gun shops in southeast Kentucky and tried to buy a 100-count drum, which is a high-capacity gun magazine.

Corbin police saw Graiber in his car heading south on I-75 toward Williamsburg just before the funeral service started.

Graiber is said to have asked when family members could come to the funeral home for the viewing when he got there.

Police in Williamsburg said they detained Graiber and took him into arrest.

Graiber pretended to be a police officer and said he worked for the CIA and had ties to the FBI and Kentucky State Police while the investigation was going on.

In a press statement, police said they had taken three handguns, gun magazines, ammunition, a tactical ballistic vest, what they thought were hydrocodone pills, a baton, and a cell phone.

The Williamsburg police and the FBI are looking into what happened, and more charges may be brought.
