BALTIMORE, Md. — Two young men were injured Sunday evening in a shooting that unfolded near a busy downtown intersection, just moments after a citizen flagged down a patrolling officer.
Around 6:00 p.m. on June 1, an officer near Light and Lombard Streets was informed of an armed individual nearby. As the officer moved toward the reported area, gunfire rang out. Two victims, a 17-year-old male and a 19-year-old male, were found with gunshot wounds that were determined to be non-life threatening.
The victims were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Both are expected to recover.
Preliminary findings indicate the shooting took place in the unit block of E. Redwood Street, a location just steps from the city’s Inner Harbor.
