Landover man charged in fatal shooting after early morning argument

Landover, Maryland. A 33-year-old man has been charged by the Prince George’s County Police Department in relation to a fatal shooting that took place in Landover earlier this month.

Charges have been brought against Aaron Zavier Jefferson of Upper Marlboro for the murder of Dequan Clinkscale, 31, of Capitol Heights. On June 7 at around 4:40 a.m., police said they received a complaint about an unresponsive man in the 400 block of Warfield Drive.

When police came, they found Clinkscale shot and wounded in a parking garage. At the scene, he was declared dead.

According to authorities, investigators used a variety of investigation methods to identify Jefferson as the culprit. According to the early inquiry, there was an argument between Clinkscale and Jefferson, who were acquainted, that turned violent.

In addition to other counts, Jefferson faces first- and second-degree murder charges. As he awaits extradition to Prince George’s County, he is presently being detained in Fairfax County.
