Police in Harrison County say that two attackers brandished machetes and tied up a man from Gulfport and his fiancée during a robbery on Monday morning.
The man who was hurt said the knife hit him in the head and arm during the break-in at 6 a.m. in the 12000 block of Cypress Bayou Drive in Gulfport. He said he was hit in the garage and then dragged back into the house, where he and his fiancée were tied together with zip ties.
The victim said that the thieves took gold and cash worth an unknown amount. The thieves took the victim’s black 2018 Dodge Charger when they left.
The victim and his fiancée were able to get away, and they drove to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and is now reported as being in stable condition.
