Man injured in Woodland Avenue shooting after sedan opens fire on parked car

The city of Philadelphia In Southwest Philadelphia, a shooting occurred Wednesday night that left a car covered in blood and bullets on the sidewalk and injured a man, according to police.

The 12th District officers responded to a complaint of a person in the 5200 block of Woodland Avenue carrying a gun at around 10:19 p.m. on June 18. Officers discovered blood close to the front passenger door and numerous bullet holes along the driver’s side of a silver Nissan Maxima when they arrived.

There was no victim found at the scene.

Police were notified shortly after the finding that a male victim had driven in a private vehicle to Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. The individual was receiving treatment for a graze wound to his head and a gunshot wound to his left hand. Both of his injuries were described as non-life-threatening, but his condition was not made public.

Gunfire erupted from maroon sedan

Preliminary investigations reveal that the victim was seated in the Nissan’s front passenger seat when a maroon car drew up to it and started shooting.

No one has been arrested, and the reason for the shooting is still unknown. No suspects have been named by investigators.

The investigation is being worked on by the Shooting Investigation Group of the Philadelphia Police Department.
