Mega Millions rolls to $302M as Maryland player cashes in

CHEVERLY, M.D.Maryland Lottery officials announced Wednesday that a $20,000 Mega Millions ticket for the June 17 drawing was sold at Landover Liquors in Prince George’s County.

The winning ticket for the third tier was bought at 6504 Landover Road in Cheverly. In addition to the Mega Ball 12, it matched four of the five white balls: 16, 23, 39, 46, and 55. By applying a 2X increase to the previously $10,000 jackpot, the new automatic multiplier feature doubled the win to $20,000.

Non-jackpot rewards in the Mega Millions game now have random multipliers ranging from 2X to 10X, depending on the draw.

The top reward has increased to a projected annuity of $302 million, with a cash option of $136 million available in Friday’s next drawing. The June 17 draw did not include a jackpot winner.

Winners are advised by lottery authorities to sign the back of their tickets and keep them in a safe place. After the drawing date, prizes must be claimed within 182 days.
