When admirers noticed a smiling mugshot of a University of Georgia sorority girl, social media went into overdrive.
On March 8, Lily Stewart was taken into custody for “speeding in excess of maximum limits,” a violation that carries a $1,000 punishment.
Because Stewart is grinning broadly in her mugshot, some users have commented on how attractive she looks.
One commenter commented, “They done locked up Miss America,” while another said, “They hate to see a baddie [an attractive woman] thrive.”
Morgan County, which borders Athens, the site of the University of Georgia, is where Stewart was taken into custody. She has been a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority since 2023, according to her LinkedIn profile.
One comment said, “Guilty of stealing my heart, your honor,” while another said, “In excess of speeding up my heart rate, your honor.”
A third wrote, “Your honor, she’s just a girl.”
Others seemed to make light of Stewart’s appearance and status as a sorority girl. One user said, “Your honor, my client like totally didn’t see that sign.” Another person commented, “That smile says daddy is an attorney.”
Somewhat rudely, some people offered explanations for the offense. One said, “There must have been a sale at Lululemon.” “She was trying to get the last pumpkin spice latte of the season,” another person said.
She was merely attempting to get to brunch for endless mimosas, your honor.
By sharing some of her “favorite/unhinged” remarks on the mugshot in a video collection on TikTok, Stewart appeared to recognize the irony of the situation.
