Middle Tennessee schools are canceling Thursday classes because of the risk of severe storms and floods across the whole state.
One of the first schools to close was Cheatham County Schools. In a press release, the school system said that all after-school activities and extended daycare would also be canceled.
The board meeting for the district that was supposed to happen on Thursday has been moved to April 10 at 6 p.m. at Sycamore High School.
Before a week of storms, the National Weather Service has put out a flood watch for parts of Middle Tennessee. The watch lasts from Wednesday at 7 p.m. to Sunday at 7 a.m.
It was warned that there could be a tornado in Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery, Perry, and Stewart counties until midnight.
