New York, New York Two According to the New York Lottery, five players each won $16,518 in Saturday night’s drawing. The winning tickets were bought in Manhattan and Jackson Heights.
A jackpot-winning ticket for the June 14 Take 5 evening draw was sold by Shahbaz Deli Inc., which is situated at 7403 37th Avenue in Jackson Heights, and 561 Straight Deli Grocery Inc., which is located at 561 Lenox Avenue in Manhattan.
Numbers in the Take 5 game are selected from a field of 1 through 39. Players have two daily chances to win cash prizes when the lottery runs drawings at 2:30 and 10:30 p.m.
The top prize, which is split evenly among all winners who match all five numbers, is one of the rewards that players can claim within a year of the drawing date.
Since there were precisely two top prize winners in the evening drawing, each winner will receive the entire $16,518 sum before any relevant taxes are deducted.
Take 5 sees frequent citywide wins
This Saturday’s drawing is the latest example of several winners splitting the Take 5 top prize. Throughout the five boroughs and neighboring counties, the game consistently generates winning tickets.
Players are still being reminded by the New York Lottery to verify their tickets and claim their wins within the allotted period. According to lottery organizers, winners may collect their prizes for up to a year after the drawing date.
Every year, billions of dollars are donated to public school funding by the New York Lottery, which supports education throughout the state.
On Monday night, the next Take 5 drawing will take place.
