Off-duty NYPD traffic agent arrested in Brooklyn for assault and harassment

Brooklyn, New York.According to authorities, an off-duty NYPD traffic enforcement agent was taken into custody in Brooklyn on Tuesday night and is being charged with harassment and assault.

At around 6:25 p.m., 31-year-old male Syed Rasool was arrested inside the 70th Precinct. He faces third-degree assault and second-degree harassment charges.

Details regarding the event that resulted in Rasool’s arrest have not been made public by the NYPD. Whether the alleged attack took place in a household setting or involving a civilian is unknown.

At the time of the occurrence, Rasool was not on duty. Regarding his present duty status and any administrative action taken in response to the arrest, the NYPD has not commented.
