olice seek suspect in deadly shooting of 31-year-old man on Camac Street

The city of Philadelphia According to Philadelphia police, authorities are looking for a 22-year-old man in relation to the shooting death of Derwin Matthews in Center City earlier this month.

Officers from the 9th District responded to a report of a person with a pistol on the 200 block of South Camac Street on Monday, June 2, at around 2:39 a.m. When officers arrived, they discovered Derwin Matthews, age 31, lying on the road with an abdominal gunshot wound.

After being taken by police to Jefferson Hospital, Matthews was declared dead at 6:20 p.m.

Two people have been named as suspects in the homicide after the Homicide Unit conducted an investigation. In order to find one of the fugitives, the Philadelphia Police Department is currently asking for the public’s assistance.

Police identify 22-year-old suspect in Camac Street killing

The 22-year-old Nysheem Hinson-Rakley has been identified as a suspect. Police say that the 900 block of Parrish Street is where he last lived.

The second suspect’s specifics are still under wraps. The motivation and if the suspects and victim knew one another have not been discussed by the authorities.

The Philadelphia Police Department is asking anyone with knowledge regarding Hinson-Rakley’s whereabouts to get in touch.
