One dead, several injured in Columbus shooting at large gathering

Columbus, Ohio According to the Columbus Division of Police, a shooting occurred in downtown Columbus early Saturday morning, leaving one person dead and multiple others injured.

Patrol officers were called to the intersection of S. Ludlow Street and W. Town Street at around 3:15 a.m. on June 14 after receiving reports of gunfire. Officers found six people with gunshot wounds upon arrival, including five adults and one minor. Another young person with injuries unrelated to a gunshot was discovered at the location.

For medical care, all patients were taken to nearby hospitals. Another adult victim self-transported to a hospital, according to police reports.

Because of his injuries from the gunshot, Jusiah Mason was declared dead by medical professionals at 12:36 p.m. on Sunday. According to reports, the status of the surviving casualties is stable.

Police ask the public for help in their investigation.

Investigators think a sizable crowd was there when the incident occurred. Anyone having digital, photographic, or video evidence of the incident is being asked by authorities to submit it by scanning a QR code. Submissions don’t need an account and can stay anonymous.

While the inquiry is ongoing, police have not disclosed any information regarding suspects or possible motivations.
