Two men who are suspected of joining others in a fight and theft at a club in Erie more than a year ago were still on the run on Monday. The police have refused to say anything about the event because they are still investigating it.
Case papers and Erie police say that 14 of the 16 people who were charged last week have been arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, robbery, and other crimes.
Not much is known about the people charged by Erie police. Police records and criminal docket sheets from Erie show that nine of the suspects were arrested Thursday morning and tried that same day. Stephen Simmons is 70 years old, Joshua R. Burton is 34, Blake Mariani is 29, Joseph L. Henry is 31, Vito Randazzo is 48, Chandler D. Kopystecki is 20, James J. Taylor is 59, and Christopher P. Mitulski is 58. Court records show that they are all free now that their $100,000 bonds were paid.

But an ATF spokesman in Philadelphia told the Erie Times-News that the agency doesn’t talk about or comment on current investigations. Neither would Erie police nor the DA’s Office say anything about the ATF’s role in the investigation.
