Pittsfield, Massachusetts.A Pittsfield man who entered a guilty plea to charges related to a 2019 kidnapping and sexual assault event was sentenced on Monday in Berkshire Superior Court.
In addition to two counts of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14, Glen A. Chadwell, 51, entered a guilty plea to kidnapping. Two and a half years for the kidnapping charge and two and a half years for one of the assault counts resulted in a total sentence of five years in the House of Corrections. The accusations are related to an event that happened in late August 2019 when the victim was walking home from Berkshire Medical Center. The victim was allegedly taken into Chadwell’s automobile and driven to another location by Chadwell and an unnamed second person.
The victim was attacked there, but he or she was able to flee and get assistance nearby.
The identity of the second suspect is yet unknown.
The second person engaged in the crime has not yet been identified by authorities. The identity of that individual is still being investigated.
After the court procedures, Chadwell was taken to start serving his sentence.
