Police investigate two groping incidents on G train in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y.—On Saturday, May 31, a guy allegedly approached and tried to kiss female riders on the G train in Brooklyn in two different occurrences that happened within 35 minutes. The police are looking into these incidents.

A 17-year-old girl was riding a northbound G train close to Prospect Park Station at around 7:10 a.m. when a guy grabbed her face and planted a kiss on her cheek and forehead. This was the first incident that was reported. According to police, the suspect then got off the train and ran away to an unidentified place.

A woman, 29, on the same train line, near the 7 Avenue Station, reported that about 35 minutes later, a man wrapped his arm around her shoulder, tried to kiss her, and then fled the train as well.

Neither event involved any reported physical injuries, and the NYPD’s Special Victims Division and Transit District 30 are still investigating both occurrences.

The suspect description for the G train attacks has been made public.

Because the two incidents are similar in nature and chronology, authorities think the same person may be involved in both. According to police, the male was between thirty and thirty-five years old, with a dark complexion. He was last spotted holding a blue rubbish bag and sporting a blue hooded sweatshirt underneath a black jacket.

In order to identify the offender and ascertain whether any further occurrences have occurred, officers are examining security footage and speaking with witnesses.

No one has been arrested as of Sunday.
