Sc Might Have Hail, Storms, and Winds of Up to 60 Mph. How Bad Weather Could Affect Myrtle Beach

Monday night in the Myrtle Beach area, damaging winds, quarter-sized hail, and even tornadoes could happen because of nasty storms.

The Wilmington office of the National Weather Service said that the Myrtle Beach area has a higher chance of getting bad weather. The area will have a few to many thunderstorms on Monday because of a cold front, said expert Lauren Warner.

Warner said the wind gusts of 60 mph or more are the most dangerous thing, even though bad weather could start earlier in inland areas. This could damage property and bring down power lines and trees.

Warner tells people to bring anything that could fly inside or tie it down.

Tornadoes and hail bigger than a quarter are also possible, but the National Weather Service says the risk is low.
