Teen critically injured after being struck while crossing Lysle Boulevard in McKeesport

MCKEESPORT, PA.According to police, a 15-year-old boy was seriously hurt Tuesday night after he was hit by a car while trying to cross a busy McKeesport crossroads.

After receiving a request for help, the Homicide and Collision Reconstruction Unit of the Allegheny County Police Department responded to the scene. After receiving a 9-1-1 report regarding a pedestrian being struck, emergency personnel were sent to the vicinity of Lysle Boulevard and Coursin Street at 6:51 p.m.

The adolescent victim was discovered at the scene by first responders, who took him to a local hospital where his condition was rated as critical. The involved car’s driver stayed on the site and is assisting with the inquiry.

According to detectives, a car in the left lane struck the teenager as he tried to cross Lysle Boulevard in front of a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus. No more information was made public regarding the car or the driver.

Investigators are still trying to ascertain the complete circumstances of the crash and have not yet made any charges public.
