Teen Suspect Arrested for Myrtle Beach Murder

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.In relation to a fatal shooting that took place late Friday night along the Myrtle Beach shoreline, a 17-year-old Conway resident has been taken into custody and charged.

The event happened on June 27 at around 900 N. Ocean Boulevard at 11:15 p.m. According to Myrtle Beach police, one person was killed and another was injured but not seriously.

Evany McCray, the suspect, has been placed under arrest and is charged with murder, high-level and aggravated assault and battery, and two weapons crimes.

On most charges, the suspect is detained without bond.

The assault charge resulted in McCray’s bond being refused. Bonds for the two weapons offenses were set at $250,000. Bond for the murder charge will be decided by a circuit court judge.

The victims’ names have not yet been made public by the police. The inquiry is still under progress.
