The US Social Security Administration will send more checks to disabled people who are qualified on April 9, 2025. People in the United States who are qualified can only get this benefit payment. Not all Americans can get it because there are four different payment days every month.
There are a few things we need to do, though, before we can cash this new cheque before the end of the week. Some disabled people will get their cash on April 9, while others will be able to enjoy it over the next few days. It has to do with both the requirements for qualifying and the way the citizen has chosen to pay.
Things needed to get the new disability payment
As we already said, the next Social Security payment will be sent on April 9, 2025. This benefit will only be given to seniors in Group 2, no matter what kind of benefit they get. In other words, people in Group 2 can get the benefit no matter if they get the Disability payment or the old-age retirement payment.
So, the people who will get the money are those who:
- Have their birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- Have been able to get a Social Security check since after May 1997.
If we don’t set up Direct Deposit, we won’t get our disability payment the same day it is sent. In the event that we trigger it, we shall be able to cash this cheque in full on the 9th of the month. If we do not, the payment may come a few days later.
The Disability benefit will be paid to everyone else in the US on any of the other days of the month. Along with the April 3rd check, the government will send checks to seniors in groups 3 and 4 on April 16th and 23rd. It’s easy to get the benefit because you’re already a part of these groups.
Changes to the amounts of disability benefits in 2025
Since the COLA caused the Disability Retirement Payment to go up in January, we can say that the benefit’s highest number is $4,081 per month. However, not everyone can get that much.
Each citizen of the United States has a different amount that is based on their work experience and personal circumstances. This group of retirees will get their check on April 9th, no matter what kind of check they usually get.
