TOMS RIVER, N.J.
— A woman was reported missing from her home in Toms River early Friday morning, prompting concern from neighbors and a police investigation into her sudden disappearance.
The woman, whose identity has not been publicly released by authorities, was last seen inside her home on New Street at approximately 5:30 a.m., according to a neighbor’s social media post. She reportedly did not leave in her vehicle, which was still parked at the residence when she was discovered missing later that morning.
“She was seen inside her home at 5:30 this morning, usually leaves for work around 6 to 6:30, and was found gone at 10 a.m. with her car home and no belongings with her,” neighbor Kimberly Uclés posted online. “A police report has already been filed.”
Residents in the area have asked others nearby to check home surveillance footage and to be on the lookout for the woman on foot. The neighbor indicated that surrounding streets near New Street in Toms River might yield useful information.
The Toms River Police Department has not yet released an official statement or verified the missing person report. As of Saturday morning, the woman had not been located.
The missing woman’s routine of leaving for work in the early morning, combined with the fact that her belongings and car were left behind, has fueled concern among those who know her.
