SUMTER COUNTY, SC — Police in South Carolina (SLED) said that 35-year-old Justin J. Rhodes and 38-year-old Fuqron Nelson were arrested and charged with plotting and mistreatment of animals.
Both guys were arrested on Thursday after the Sumter Police Department and the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office worked together to look into what happened.
Rhodes and Nelson are being charged with two counts of plot and four counts of violating animal rights.
The Sumter County Detention Center has taken both guys into custody.
The police say that anyone who knows about dog fighting in the state should email [email protected] or call (866) 472-8477 and give them to SLED.
The case will be brought by the 3rd Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
