Dartmouth, MA – Two teenagers lost their lives in a devastating single-vehicle crash on Interstate 195 in Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
The crash occurred around 1:35 p.m. near the 19.4 mile marker on I-195 West, close to the Reed Road Exit. Authorities said only one car was involved, and both occupants were ejected due to the force of the impact, which was so severe that the vehicle’s engine was dislodged.
Victims Identified
On Sunday, District Attorney Thomas Quinn identified the victims as:
- Kevin Dos Santos Lopes, 19, of New Bedford, Massachusetts
- Amilton De Pina Semedo, 18, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island
Both teens were transported to a nearby hospital but were later pronounced dead.

Video footage from the scene showed a crane being used to lift the damaged vehicle back onto the roadway so it could be towed. A section of the interstate was temporarily closed as authorities investigated the crash.
