Woman groped at Elmhurst Avenue subway station as suspect flees on foot

Queens, New York.Police say a 22-year-old woman was sexually attacked Friday night as she was passing through the Elmhurst Avenue subway station.

The woman was ready to leave the station when the event happened, which happened in the mezzanine area at around 7:10 p.m. Before leaving the station, police claimed, an unidentified male approached her from behind and groped her buttocks and private area over her clothes.

There were no recorded physical injuries, and the victim didn’t need medical help.

As of Saturday morning, the suspect is still at large after leaving the area on foot. Police are looking into station surveillance footage and carrying out their investigation.

A case of forceful touching has been assigned to the occurrence.

The suspect is described as a man who is around six feet tall, has a dark complexion, and has gray hair on his chin. When last seen, he was dressed in dark blue shorts and a green t-shirt.

Anyone with knowledge on the person’s identify or who may have observed the incident is being asked to get in touch with the NYPD.
